What we do

We’re the leading supplier of barcoding technology, expertise and advice to the healthcare industry in Australia, supplying labels and equipment to 80% of hospitals and private pathology labs and we are a major supplier of patient identification wrist bands to Australian Hospitals.

From a strong base in the healthcare industry, we expanded to offer barcoding to other industries – including government departments, local councils, libraries, police, NGOs, schools, universities, TAFE colleges, retailers wholesalers and telecoms.

Meet the team

Maggie Mason – Founder/Owner/Managing Director

My business story started when I trained as a nurse and worked in hospitals in the US and Australia. Whilst I enjoyed my time in healthcare, I realised that my passion was for sales and I joined the IT industry. It was then that I saw the link between the two disciplines, and how technology could deliver efficiency and better patient outcomes. That’s when I founded Barcode Direct, starting with healthcare and expanding out to a range of industries who use technology for the efficient tracking of their assets.

I love the business and the community of staff and clients that we have- my team are 100% committed to helping our clients and our clients have responded with loyalty and their continued support of our business. My primary role is to engage with industry to continue to build the business – I believe this is my strength and I love the challenges and rewards it brings.
